Poor, Sick Josie

Well, this week was supposed to be a very productive week. Notice the wording ... "supposed." In a push to get our house on the market, the kitchen was to be packed up, bedrooms packed, staged, and paint touched up.

Well, if there's ANY theme to my life in 2009 -- so far, I would have to say it's that the Lord takes great pleasure in me planning .... and He directing (Proverbs 16:9). To me, that means that (this year at any rate) God really has different plans/directions than I do. I feel that He honors my work and perseverance, but He certainly wants me to trust Him with all of it --- especially when it throws me for a loop. .... Ah - 2009!

This week, Josie got really sick. Eventually, I had to take her (along with Josie and Gideon) to the ER. Jeremy had left town for a meeting in PA - and wasn't due back until the end of the week. Fortunately, he was able to sneak out and come home early to help me out!

Poor little Josie had a cold that went bad - really bad. It had caused her to have a type of asthma attack - and she was really struggling to breathe. Once in the ER, she was dosed up with medication - and put on a nebulizer (a machine that mixes medication with air - you then breathe in the meds. which directly go to your lungs) to get her airways open. She responded wonderfully to this, and we were all able to go home after several hours.

Josie now (for at least the next couple days) has to sit with the breathing mask on her face every couple hours to make sure she is able to keep breathing. She's doing much better -- and the little cold (that became much more) seems to be backing off.

Never a dull moment here!

"A man’s heart plans his way,
But the LORD directs his steps."
Proverbs 16:9

On a bright note, my camellia "tree" (a really big, old bush) is blooming -- That means Spring is almost here! YAY!!!!
